I had looked at online dating sites many times over the years, but never waded in. Content to just sit at the edge and watch all the others attempting to swim about. Then last year on the morning of August 7th, 2004 I tested the waters. After hearing the eHarmony ad for like the millionth time I decided to get my free personality profile. So, that morning when I got home from work I sat down at the computer and started answering questions. A half hour later or so, there it was. A profile about me and some clues about the type of woman I should be looking for. Whether it is a $40 value or not is up to you. But since it is free, everybody should think about taking this little quiz. The information it provides is quite interesting. Yet I still wasn’t sure whether I was going in or not. Then they sent me an email to say that they had found some matches and if I wanted to communicate with them I needed to signup. I still waited. I wasn’t sure. Do I really want to do this? Online Dating? Then they sent me their special discount offer via email. Quite the online marketers those eHarmony people are. So I dove in to the online dating waters on August 15th 2004. It has been an interesting time and the first thing I learned was that I wished that I had brought my water wings with me.
