Musings, tips and the occasional rant from the world of online dating.
I had been posting a regular eWooing Week In Review of online dating articles and related stories that you might find of interest. Yet I got a bit behind and now am in the process of catching up. These articles may have been news or new a few weeks ago when they originally were posted but the information or stories are still relevant. So here are the online dating articles from the last few months that I found to be interesting reading or which had good tips for your perusal. Enjoy!
Believing in love at first site
At first website that is. A well written article about the stigma that still seems to be attached to dating online. How many people have to be invovled in an activity before that stigmas wears off?
Some statistics regarding online dating. The one at the end of the story about how only 43% of those surveyed that have used an online dating site have actually taken that final step and actually met someone in person. I sure hope those other 57% are using free dating sites. What a waste to pay for the use of Yahoo! Personals or Match.com and meet people online then communicate with them via email and then never meet for real. What do you think of that stat?
Online daters report mostly positive connections
The stat in this story that:
Among all Internet users – about 145 million single people, married people or those in relationships – opinions appear evenly split: 44 percent agree Internet dating is a “good way to meet people,” and 44 percent disagree.
I say it makes total sense since only 43% of people according to the story above have actually done so.
Internet dating allows anyone to find dates
Watch MSNBC’s Tucker Carlson back when he was still wearing the bowties in this interview with Jim Tracy, publisher of Online Dating Magazine about Niche Dating Sites.
Shallow men and the women who suffer
An interesting commentary by Rabbi Shmuley Boteach what men tend to be looking for in a woman and what they ought to be.
Have some thoughts on the above online dating articles leave them in the comments.
